Carlos R. Canas, a Harlingen HS alumnus, is no stranger to the stage. Through college and for the past 25 years he has been performing in musicals and musical reviews with the UT Varsity singers, TSC choir and several community theater groups such as the Dawson Theater, Harlingen Country Playhouse, Camille Playhouse and the Harlingen Performing Arts Theater. He’s even shared his talents with The South Texas Chorale.
Carlos specializes in singing the hits of the 40's - 70's American Standards, Country Classics, Easy Listening, 50's/60's Rock and Roll, & Broadway. He now sings throughout the Rio Grande Valley, Corpus-Rockport, San Antonio-Fredericksburg areas for retirement communities and RV Resorts finding audiences who share his love and appreciation for these styles of music.
"I hope to be able to sing for many more years and thank God for all the blessings He has given me: two wonderful sons, Enrico and Jean-Luc and a beautiful wife of 22 years, Nydia. (We met in Choir; although it was love at first sight for me… she didn't notice me until she heard me sing.) “
